Axis
That would have been my answer, but why that word?
In anatomy, an axis is the central line about which everyhing is arranged. The word is similarly used in botany. So in WW2 it was applied to those countries who had a central common purpose - i.e. defeat of the Allies. It can be used to describe any alliance between nations or groups, such as the present-day ''axis of evil''
The Enemy
>The Enemy

Not if you were japan, germany or Italy.

The enemy were the UK, USA, France, etc etc
