Ok ladies - so who can post links to vidoes etc on how to start knitting etc for the novices?

Am liking the fish'n'chip babies knitting - very handy for all the odds n sods of leftover wool.
Ah....post a link. I could be in trouble now.
I'm doing my two needle socks atm for my friend in Sweden .
Been knitting for pushing sixty years .My Nan taught me with a little box of wool and needles that used to be a popular gift for little girls many years ago .I started off making holey scarves for dolls ..lol and progressed from there .
Can do Aran and Intarsia but those days are gone with my fumble fingers .I still have the Kaffe Fasset jacket ( autumn leaf stylie )which I knitted way back .
Do you need instructions G?

So all feel free to post new posts about patterns, anything, wool........ blah blah.

Who'd have thought a thread on knitting would be so popular?? lol

Am just starting bolero for son's baby girl - 2 months old but am doing 6-12 months ready for the winter
Shoota and Smow. Instruction yes, but you could be tearing your hair out.
I know there are websites but I only do AB which I found by accident and sometimes emails unless they have things attached and then I give up.
Knitting Pattern Central is Ok but it's an American site .
They tend to do most things on on circular needles and you have the aggro of converting yarn weights and needle sizes .

They do ask that you don’t use white or baby pastels as they’re unlikely to be washed.
I've only ever knitted one thing and I was about ten at the time, but I will give it a go.

Question Author
think tinkerbell and rocky would like that link - very clear instructions
There are lots of videos on youtube by the look of it but I always think it's best if someone actually shows you for real. Haven't you got a family member or friend to help you smowball?
I learnt how about 50 years ago too and since then I've done a lot for myself and other people but nothing recently.
I'm looking for a pattern for a Chanel style cardi at the moment if anyone's spotted one on a site somewhere? Not a twee one though, something a bit trendy, small size.
Right. When I have finished what I have on the go I shall knit for the charities overseas. I will embroider a little AB somewhere discreet so, with time and luck, we`ll have little AB vests and hats around the world. But I`m not posting links or anything else technical.
