Your Greatest Pleasure - What Was It ?

As a counter to the generally negative tone this evening, what with greatest pain, hell, etc. I thought it would be nice to counter all that agony.

So, what was your greatest pleasure ?

That my grandson born 19yrs ago this month, survived coming into the world at only 24weeks , the NHS were amazing, he’s a very handsome 6’2 gentle giant

1. Seeing my beautiful son for the first time. There are just no words to describe the overwhelming love I felt the moment I clapped eyes on him.

2. Emptying the joint account when I left my lying, cheating utter loser of an ex and taking everything ... and I mean EVERYTHING ... and leaving him £5 and a box of Liquorice Allsorts on the kitchen side.

Marrying the great love of my life 32 years after we met, having bumped into each other after 28 years apart.

Every time I witness a newborn puppy emerging into the world, mum licking it dry and it then finding its way to a teat to take its first feed. Nothing else compares.

Holding my adopted daughter for the first time at 6 days old

Being left alone in the delivery room holding our first born, when the midwife took my wife off to the bathroom.
It felt surreal.

Its got to be seeing my babies for the first time, despite the pain they put me through and then holding my grandson at a couple of minutes old. He turned his little head and 'looked' at me and we have a special bond. I am so grateful to my son in law for giving me that opportunity. ( I love my second grandson too,of course, but wasn't there for his birth)

Perhaps my Mum squealing in delight when she saw my degree results. After a lot of struggle and stress all round when getting there, it was worth it to hear how happy she was.
