I had lunch at work today, it was Curry Day.
B and Mrs B are having Pork, Spicy Rice and Mushrooms.
None of us do Valentines Day.

steak as I have a very nice Italian wine (not a VD present from a gf but a pressie from her), mash and steamed green veg, pasta instead of mash for the daughter - who is going out later for drinks with a boy friend, not a bf I am told....

Our pub is doing a Valentine's Day meal and we are going with friends. It was our wedding anniversary earlier this month and I was ill with shingles, so we're doing this instead. Pub owner is a great cook and £19.99 for 3 courses is good (all local meat etc.).

Me:-
Smoked salmon and avocado
Rare sirloin steak & about 7 veg.
Choice of puddings.

I'm just about getting out and about, so hope I do it justice. :)

We had roast chicken breasts, roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots and mashed swede. It wasn't romantic as all 5 of us ate together. Everyone got a clean plate sticker :-)

OH has cooked me fillet steak, new potatoes and asparagus. I have a big tub of Haagen Dazs vanilla caramel brownie for afters.

I made Spag Bol and experimented on cousin who again enthused about my wonderful cooking LOL. Must say I enjoyed it as well.

I love Spag Bol its one of the simplistic meals I can cook without failing. However tonight it were scrambled egg n' bacon, a delight which I can also conjure up.

so what did you do to make it experimental....

one of the worst meals I ever had was in Brussels and a friend and I went to play bridge....supper beforehand and her friend (known to us as 'Scrotum' as she wore this African necklace with two grey skin balls as pendants with what looked like black hair coming out of them - serious!) - well, the friend served up a spag bol and if the pasta (out of a pack) got more than 5 mins, I would have been surprised). Now that was experimental - and 3 Spades to bury it needed.
