Sky+ Hd Box

My Samsung box is now needing a reboot twice a day now (ie taking out the plug from the mains) and I believe the software is up to date.

It is unresponsive to the remote and has been missing recordings.
I am loathe to replace this as my aerial installer has linked this box to other TVs in the house via a TV link, so the other TVs pick up the signal from the box. He told me the new boxes don't do this so Sky gets the room package.

Is my box dying or is there a techno fix out there?
