I am now running out of my current perfume (Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir) and would like to try something different. I don't really go for celebrity fragrances and don't want anything overly sweet.

Any suggestions?

My usual favourites are Ange ou Demon and Insolence.

I love Gucci by Gucci and for special occasions I use Acqua di Parma
Chanel CHANCE

Gucci RUSH

I love Gucci too. I bought a bottle for my friend a couple of years ago. It's an anytime-of-the-day fragrance.
Suggestion from a man...if you like the jasmine perspective, have you tried Chanel's 5 Eau Première?
YSL Parisienne is my current favourite :-)
or Aliage Estee Lauder Chypre-Green
Top Notes of Greens, peach and citrus
Mid Notes of Jasmine, rosewood, and thyme
Base Notes: Oakmoss, musk and myrrh

so possibly a bit richer than the Bvlgari?
Love Anais Anais by Cacharel

I've not even heard of that one, DT.

Erin, YSL lip glosses are amazing but I'm not keen on their fragrances.
DT

You worry me.
Just smooth and know my wines and fragrances, mick,;not that much different, though my oenophile knowledge is hopefully better than the perfumery......

Daisy, that was my very first designer fragrance.

I find fragrances very evocative and Anais Anais would remind me of being 16/17.

I do like Michael Kors but get bored of it after a week or so.
How about Van Cleefs & Arpels Oriental as well......? Quite similar to the Bvg
I'm not a fan of any other YSL fragrances NoM but this one is gorgeous... Try it out next time you're in Boots or something. It really is lovely and not sweet like the majority of my other go to perfumes :-)
The ones I use at the moment are DKNY, Summer and Lancaster, Sunwater. Not sure if the Lancaster one is available in the UK anymore. My friend got it for me when she went to the States.
If you like jasmine, try Joy. Unusual, Mimosa pour Moi from 'Artisan Parfumeur. Subtle, try any of the Un Jardin series from Hermes.

DT has an excellent nose and palate, Mick.

Woof you btw. X
I like Gucci Rush, but I hate the 'bottle' it comes in. Most of the other Gucci fragrances have attractive bottles, Rush is in a hideous red plastic dispenser.

There's a Prada one I've had in the past that I liked but I can't remember the name.

If you don't like sweet avoid Thierry Mugler Angel.
Question Author
I really love the smell of Angel on me, but I gather that many folk don't like the smell of it.
thank you NoM

mick, I am no Fran Cotton if you recall that story on the infamous Lions trip, i.e. the drinking of the Chanel No5. As Willy McBride, the Lions captain, said the next morning, "the perfume was flowing."
How funny, I like wearing Angel but I am sure people back away from me when I wear it! Mr Cake absolutely loathes it :-(
