Absolutely...
Question Author
couldnt belive it
Tescos were flogging mince pies on Saturday. Absolutely loopy. I don't want to think or hear about the C-word until at least 21 December.
what???
that's madness gina
I don't want to hear about Christmas until it's over!!!!
what i cant understand is why we have christmas at a time when all the shops are full
thats crazy I used to do proffession xmas decorating and we would only be sourcing goods now ......Mid Nov is about as early as you want to start. What will they do for Halloween ----Santa as Freddy ???
Am I the only one that's started buying presents already then?
Buying prezzies to spread the cost is one thing decorating a pub is going too far this early
boycott the pub until New Year, dont hink I could stand flickering xmas tree lights for 3 months.
I've just been to town, and M&S have mini chocolate baubles out,and in Boots I was told that all their C******* goods will be out next week....aaarrgghhh!
No body wants it-so why do the shops do it?
Gina, you sure its not from last year, they can't put one up in september...
i have always maintained that if we are going to have a three-month build-up, let's make it worth it, and have a Christmas that lasts a week.

or, if we are having a one-day celebration, then the build-up should only start the week before.

Instead, we have the three-month build-up for one day, which is ludicrous!

Somehow, we have managed to change what started out as a wonderful period of joy and happiness into a total stress-fest that very few actually enjoy when it finally arrives.

Fortunately, I have four grandchildren, and shall endevour to see the whole thing through their eyes.

em, defiantely this years
then i would boycott it, i can't understand this at all, for most people it's a stressful time, but to start it in september is beyond a joke
Question Author
i very rarely go in there , or any pub for that matter, so doubt i'll be going there any time soon
I went to a large garden centre on the weekend, and they had all their decorations on sale. They have a winter wonderland... which is opening next month!?!

There are a couple of pubs near me that have trees up too, but it's because they're advertising Christmas dinner. But yeah, ridiculous.
time to batten down the hatches.
I'd like to bet my local garden centre will have Santa's Grotto installed by the end of the month, it did last year.
I've said many times - I'm sure we would all appreciate Christmas more if we actually did the commercial side (presents, cards, food etc) once every 5 years .... we would then actually look forward to it! I wouldn't want to stop celebrating the real meaning of Christmas (religious) though, its just all this commercialism sends us in a panic and drives us mad!
