That when you fancy a bit of peace and quiet, one of your dick-head
neighbours decides to have a diy session hammering the broccoli out of a
piece of metal?

or the lawnmower gets going.
because there is no such thing as peace and quiet, the neighbours we have wouldn't know what that meant, at any time of the day and night. i sympathise
Same problem here EM.

My neighbours are lovely and quiet through the day - when I'm not normally here to appreciate it.

Apparently 6am is the best time to use your blender and 7am is suitable for getting the lawn mower out.
i am sure that most can feel sorry for you cupid, as many of us are at the mercy of our neighbours, unless one lives in a field, with only sheep for company, even they make a noise, so welcome to life, i just it would stop raining.

He wont hear me above the racket!
"wish", rain rain go away, come back another day, or not.
If he can't hear you then it's too bloody loud.
got no neighbours - yayyyyyyy
blow raspberries, bblllllrrrrr
Well, your neighbour(s) don't know exactly when you want some peace and quiet, so perhaps you could give them all a list of times when they should and should not do some DIY. Something along the lines of a weekly programme that could be shoved through their letterboxes (don't forget to clatter the flap a few times!). I'm sure that that would quickly produce peace and harmony in the neighbourhood.
ours would ignore you, me, the council, police, and indeed uncle tom cobbley and all.
Why is it that the time you finally get to do that bit of DIY that's been needed for ages, some neighbour starts to complain ?
because some do it at such unsociable hours, during the day ok, but why do they start at 10pm when we have long since gone to sleep, fer feck sake.
In Germany at least one day (Sunday) is guaranteed free from unnecessary noise, which is marvellous. Even in England we, as neighbours, all agreed not to use lawn mowers on Sundays, which wasn't difficult - maybe you could make a start there. It is, after all, to everyones advantage.
One saturday afternoon after a really hard week the wife says you look knackered put your feet up for a couple of hours.I was just nodding off when a dog started barking really loud. Now im a dog lover and fairly tolerant but this was the wrong time. i knew pepi the hairdresser down the avenue had just bought an alsatian which was yappy but no problem so far. i gave it another 15 mins barking, put my shoes on marched down to pepis and said cant you shut
that f______g dog up.Its not my dog, next door have just bought one,now you f__k off. so tail between legs.
Try living next door to a death metal band:-(((((((((
cupid, I know how you feel , we have some one exercising their angle grinder outside our window today, noisy blighters !
Ye Gods ! Sunday is the one day I get the opportunity to do anything. And in some places some authortarian government would try to stop it ?!? Thank the Lord I live in a more free country than that. Not that we aren't going the way of being dictated to in everything.

10 pm eh, well.... maybe he'd tried 3pm and someone complained they'd just put their baby to it's nap. :-)
I am having a new boiler fitted - the noise is horrendous! Next door are having an extension and the neighbours the other side are having their kitchen knocked through - I am going out this afternoon!
