ducksie I skipper a narrow boat on the G&S for charters. Today we are going to the Tudor Arms for lunch, then on down the canal to Purton to have a wee squintie at the Purton hulks.


You'll see me mention the TA often as it's the most popular charter we do. The crew get a free lunch. :o}

I bet you are murraymints, I'm on here a while, stick to the crosswords normally but rea this thread and the MOFC, I get this one, but I don't know about the saturday night one and you do come across well

Today's charter is about 5 and a half hours altogether. It's a lovely trip, some beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife to see. The TA food is superb, ask Welshie, he's been there. :o}

We are all volunteers for Cotswold Canals Trust ducksie, we don't get paid, we do it to raise funds for the canal restoration we are doing. http//:www.cotswoldcanals.com should give you an idea.

Morning all. Bit slow to get online this morning. Took ages ! Bl**dy technology. Anyway, I'm off to Sweden today and I'll be back next week. It's a friend's 75th birthday so I'm off to visit her and celebrate. Last time I was there, I had a VERY close encounter with an elk.. AN ELK !! I told Boaty all about it at the time. It was funny afterwards. Quite an underwear changing moment at the time though.

Passengers ducksie. It's a 27 foot narrow boat and we carry up to 12 passengers. If there are 8 or more we get a free lunch. today we have 12. :o}

Ah ducksie..you know me so well !! Hee hee.....I came here for help on crossie three years ago and been here ever since..it's a bit habit forming...but there are some really nice people here....had a bad 18 months with dad very ill on chemotherapy and radiotherapy ...and I couldn't have remained sane without the kindness of folks here !!

Looked at cotswalds canal trust there WBM, is that same thing, your link just gave me a new ab page, sounds great what you do, volunteering, you must love the water to be up at this hour

Does you're friend know sh's having a 75th birthay party janbee and is she/he execting you? I hope it goes well

I'm up at this hour every day ducksie. :o} But yes, I love it on the water. I wouldn't do it otherwise. It's worth having a look at the site. There is a vast photo gallery.
