Going to my son's for Christmas so it'll be a surprise. Knowing his wife it will be very tasty and there will be lots of it.
still fine tuning menu but likely to be

smoked salmon pate (home made) with french toast
or a lobster bisque

chicken and gammon with roast vegetables,(potato parsnip carrot and squash) sprouts, cauli and sweetcorn chestnut stuffing

raspberry and amaretto trifle or bakewell tart style mince pie and custard

asstd cheeses oatcakes and port
Roast pork loin.
Duck and chicken.
was planning on turkey, but now considering one of those 3 bird affairs.
Beef.
starter - no idea but something light
main - duck for me and OH, chicken for boy No1 and Turkey for boy No2
pudding - no idea.
We're having one of them turkey in a duck in a goose in a pheasant and so on this year, never tried it before so hope its nice, that will be with the usual roast tatties, carrots, sprouts and sausages in bacon. Don't do starters but dessert will be Christmas Pudding and Eton Mess I think (not with strawberries though, passion fruit I think).
Beef here too.
There are 25 of us and we go down the half traditional half Italian route.

We normally have Antipasto usually including prawns, salamis, olives, peppers, breads. Then we have a home-made pasta course. This year it is ravioli. Then we have a turkey, leg of lamb and a ham with all the trimmings, then a mountain of desserts.

New years day is normally a repeat of Christmas day Mwahahaha!
anything but turkey...x
I can't cook beef for some reason would like it though...
Canapés
Salmon Soufflé
Sumac and Thyme Roast Duck with saffron jus, chipotle roasted potatoes, roasted parnsips, brussel sprouts, French beans
Cheese (to think about but will include Stilton/Roquefort or Cashel/a Vacherin/a Chevre Cendré and maybe a Camembert/Brie/Cornish cheese
Christmas Pudd/Pavlova.

principal wine a Marqués Varga Reserva 1998
I like turkey but everyone has been moaning about it so I may have chicken and maybe a small turkey joint
I bought one of those '3 bird affairs' last Christmas, and was very disappointed. It was more stuffing than meat, wouldn't buy it again. This year they're doing a '4 bird affair'. Won't buy that either. we are having roast turkey crown and roast gammon with all the trimmings. It will beat last year!!!
Our Christmas dinner wont be until boxing day when my brother is here. We'll be having soup for starter, probably lentil. Ham joint, roast potatoes, carrots and onions, brussel sprouts, sage and onion stuffing and chipolatas for main. And my own homemade chocolate cheesecake for dessert :-) Can't wait!!
annie I do my beef in my slow cooker. You can't go wrong.
No starter. Guinea Fowl for main followed by Christmas Pud. Cheese later (an excuse for a second bottle of wine ! )
No starter
Goose and a ham with the normal stuff
homemade meringues with double cream
Locally reared turkey delivered by the milkman-lady, spuds and all the trimmings, christmas pud and cream. Them indoors will not allow for any deviation from a proper dinner, followed by raucous commentary on the queen's speech.
