My neighbours across the street put up their decorations this morning. They've pre school grandchildren who visited with their parents this afternoon so maybe that's why.
But isn't it a bit early?

Yes, first weekend in December here Sandy but I can understand why they'd do it for the kids and to cheer themselves up in this lockdown
First week in December forme too , love all the lights
Oxford Street's have been up for a couple of weeks. Probably seen by fewer people than your neighbours'.
Many are making the effort to start early and lighten up the gloom.
I usually do mine the first week in December, but this year, I've put them up today. I need a bit of sparkle at the moment.
Santa going down,lol.

I think people want a bit of sparkle and glitter to light up the gloom and doom at the moment.

Sparkykid,
We'll see him again next year
I don't do mine until about 17th Dec but this awful year - as per the Tesco ad - nobody's been naughty, we should forgive all :-)
Yes.
They are popping up everywhere and I've seen some spectacular ones. Yes, it's early, but it's obvious people are doing it to lighten all the doom and gloom and I'm glad they are.
we've got ours up outside to welcome the neighbours

All those years ago.
No hard & fast rules, but yeah, too early. Already cheesed off with Smooth radio continually going on about next month's xmas and playing xmas tracks. Turned over to Magic.
I love my twinkling window ( so do my neighbours)
I think its too early, I haven't even put up my first Christmas card which (Included a card of £5 Tesco club card points off my next shop) Last weeks delivery order was £110 squid-ish... a coincedence.

Each to their own also I think its nice for the kids to think he's coming... and not on lockdown pt3.
I don't think the morning is too early to put them up :-)
I bet he feels better for that Jno and it saves watering the garden.
There seems to be a big media drive here for people to put up decorations and not the in house ones, but the ones all over the garden and that. Everyone is trying to outdo each other and people are already going around the streets and saying 'oh, drove up such an area and it is really fab, well done the residents there', they won't be calling out my neighbourhood, no one has made any attempt at putting up the lights, then the supermarkets and our local shopping centre looks like Las Vegas, so many lights you could use it as a landing strip for an airplane
Well done Sparkly!
