Can anyone tell me why Kidnappers Lane in Cheltenham is so called?

Only a guess but Nap is the soft surface of animal skin, Kid being a young goat so it would imply a worker of kid skin ie. a kid napper.
Have a look at surrounding street names to see if they relate to trades or animals.
