Why has the US apparently lost the technical know how to resume moon landings, could the Saturn 5 rocket be revvived, i know it may be a cost thing,

They concluded it would cost to much for the negligible return. In truth it was very much a race with the Russians but the Russians didn't play ball. Far more progress has been made with the space stations and Hubble telescope et al

Possibly it is because they never landed on the moon in the first place? Seems strange that they have never returned....
