please can someone explain why i have already received my p45 from my employer yet i have one more week to serve of my notice.?

Your P45 is just a statement of your earnings, together with the tax paid on those earnings, for the current tax year. It can be issued as soon as your employer has worked out these figures; it's not necessary to wait until the date when you actually leave the company.

With the current tax year about to come to an end, it will help your new employer (assuming you have one) to receive this form as soon as possible. Your current employer is simply demonstrating a degree of efficiency which, sadly, is frequently lacking within many other firms.
