We are percentages of different things. The elements are a nice example. You're personality/personalities may be another nice example. Do you know any?

I don't know any personalities.
Celebs aren't normally 'my thing'.
I agree.
If you have a materialistic worldview you can never understand consciousness.
A big subject.
And we're off!
//If you have a materialistic worldview you can never understand consciousness.
A big subject. //

A big statement!!
Indeed.
Scientists are stumped.
Theland, Not having a materialistic world view - allegedly - how would you know that those with that view can never understand consciousness? You've never walked in their shoes.
// If you have a materialistic worldview you can never understand consciousness. //

Warning: Non-scientific statement alert!!!

Can we get it removed Ed?
If you told somebody 150 years ago that something could be in two places at once, you would have been commuted.
Now we know this is true.
So the question is, the next step metaphysical?
Theland, //So the question is...//

You haven't answered the last question yet.
Naomi - I don't.
I doubt they ever will.
In that case don't make derogatory statements about people you don't know.
Who do you have on mind?
Those you're criticising for no valid reason.
I am not criticising anybody.
//If you have a materialistic worldview you can never understand consciousness. //

That's criticism.
Not at all.
An observation.
An observation of whom?
"Did You Know That As A Being, That We Are Not Entirely One Thing?"

Yes.
An observation of those who refuse to consider the metaphysical.
If that is criticism, it is not nasty, as
I fear is being implied.
Apologies if not.
It's not an observation, it's an assumption.
I'd just assumed that TheLand is arguing that consciousness goes beyond the materialistic viewpoint. If so, I disagree with him, but I don't see how it's derogatory or critical.
