This week's offering is "Joint Wisdom" by Rok.
A fairly straightforward grid fill and a work of art that is worthy of celebration.

I haven't heard of this setter before and I look forward to seeing this puzzle.
I really enjoyed this - thanks, Rok, this was the pink of perfection. I do agree with starwalker that the work of art is worth celebrating.
I'm looking forward to downloading and tackling it after your comments.

Mysterons - having sat back and reviewed the puzzle in its entirety, I suspect that we may have encountered Rok under a different name. If I am wrong, then my apologies - a wonderful debut.
Yes, a nice straightforward fill with a very neat ending (which resolved the one uncertainty I had over wordplay). The shading, though, is going to be a bit of a challenge.
it does seem this is a début from Rok under this pseudonym. No ambiguities here which is always a good start. Fairly straightforward with a few cluing imperfections. Always nice to see a grid packed with thematic content. On the whole enjoyable. Thanks Rok
An interesting demonstration of how enjoyment of a puzzle correlates with interest in the theme. It left me completely cold. I wonder what the response would have been to a similar work of art from a different era. But well constructed and very straightforwardly clued, so no complaints
i was flicking through my wife's Sun paper today and the only page i read entirely is Jeremy Clarkson's. I note he has similar taste as Rok does. For me, turnerjmw, i am too young a generation, but the puzzle itself makes up for it, albeit fairly easy again this week. This week's inquisitor is by Loda who gave us the very enjoyable "in clue order, on and on" earlier this year.
I kid myself that I'm of too young a generation, too, midazolam. Rereading my earlier post I may have sounded like I was pouring cold water on the puzzle. Far from it. It was very well done. I just didn't get the extra level of satisfaction from identifying with the theme that others did.

I look forward to the Inquisitor almost as much as the Listener now. With Kea and Loda we have been spoiled recently.
Well I'm only six clues into this one and I think I know already exactly where it's going, what I need to highlight, which colours to use etc. All I can say is if I'm right I must be Derren Brown ... Robinruth will know exactly what I'm saying! Psychic or incredible coincidence Robinruth?
Only just downloading it Clueless Joe, after a trip to the Italian Alps, but the comments from all so far are intriguing and encouraging. I'll let you know how we fare and react!
Work of art? Then how should we describe "King Lear" or Beethoven's piano sonatas?
I LIKED this puzzle. I guess there will be some who will complain about the theme. Well, why not have this as a work of art? It will certainly get me revisiting my old art collection lovingly created in my teens!
Give me this over Beethoven any day.

Unless I'm missing something, isn't it ambiguous which squares should be removed/shaded? It's clear what the six colours are, but where to put them?
there is no ambiguity at all s436. once you have removed the letters it should give you an idea how to shade the others. look closely on the internet at the picture of the art in question
Oh dear yes, Clueless Joe, I have just completed it and understand! Out with the coloured pencils again!
Well midazolam and turnerjmw, I am a generaqtion or two on the other side if this:-) Diz and Bird anyone?
Which raises the question:- without Google , how on earth would someone find the relevant info to solve this?
Sorry make that....of this.
Clamzy - online searches are probably most fruitful - did not need to try any. Also you could have checked for vendors of copies works of art by the artist.
However, in paper format, try The Great Rock Discography by Strong ... complete discographies listing every track recorded by more than 1200 artists.
Many thanks for that information cJ. I did indeed find the internet most fruitful and Google supplied all I could possibly want to know including the requisite image. My comment was in reference to the Listener guidelines which I believe advise setters that all required themetic material should be readily available to the average solver who may not have internet access or even a computer. This particular theme appeared to me to be more suited to those of a certain age than to those either side - older or younger:-)
