Well, he must have had a death wish.
He turned into the oncoming traffic, there were 3 cars coming at him. It was a miricle non of them crashed. One of the cars swerved into the hard shoulder while the other 2 slammed the breaks on. He must have been caught because the idiot did it right outside the RAC control tower!!
It was you really, crapping yourself now are ya?

That reminds me of another question:
Should non-english peple who can't read any english be allowed to drive?
I think i know the answer to that one...
On one of those Police Camera Action type programmes recently they showed a man on CCTV stopped in a coned off gap in the central reservation on the M25. He was slowly lifting cones out of the way until he could get his car through and into lane 3 on the other side.

When the police caught up with him he was Latvian or Lithuanian and didn't know he had done anything wrong.

I suppose if we were in their country and did somthing wrong they would be moaning about us wouldn't they
But this isn't a little 'something wrong'

This is a serious lack of understanding of road rules putting the lives of many at severe risk.

I was discussing this type of situation this lunchtime with a work colleague.

I live in northampton where there are an increasing number of cars sporting a PL (Poland) number plate. It worries me that these cars and drivers are not fit to be on these roads.

Also, what recourse do the police have? How do they know if the driver has a licence, tax, mot, etc. Number PLate Recognition Systems are surely of no use here?
I believe some British drivers are now getting foreign plated cars because it is easier to get away with motoring crimes on cameras
The Motorways Traffic (England & Wales) Regulations 1982 make it an offence to cross the central reservation of a motorway.

However, if the police (& CPS) were to bring a prosecution for doing so, they might simply opt for an alternative charge of 'dangerous driving', as this carries potentially greater penalties.
