MM Link Game Solutions Feb 2007 [Week 1]

The sealed envelope containing the chosen links of Barbara has been opened and we find her solution is as follows:
Gold STANDARD
QUICK Silver
Copper BEECH
GRID Iron
Excellent choices!

Thefirst to fall was GOLD STANDARD by Entrant #3 Arabesque .The next to fall was COPPER BEECH but not without drama! jan1956 and sarumite both as fast as each other to record the exact same time of 09.05am and pick up the bonus points.

Now comes the real drama when "new kid on the block" evsajo entered the arena as #16 with QUICK SILVER (2 points) and (!) COPPER BEECH (1 point) - but if her
entry is logged as 09.05 (2 points) totalling FOUR points.

A few entries later came in wickedtongue to nail the last link as GRID IRON.

A full breakdown of points will follow!

Nelly the elephant packed her trunk and said goodbye to the crofter!!
I told the other half what you said and he said, OK Barbar!!
I am really stuck with this now--see you all next week.
Another magnificent score of zero. I should have got GRID IRON though, especially as I've taken the day off work to stay up and watch the Superbowl tonight !!!

At least it seems I'm in good company with plenty of the regular ABers also helping me prop-up the rest in the league table. As Yazz said, 'The only way is up'.

Thanks to Barbara for a wonderful set of links, and again to crofter for his unique scoring and summarising.
By the way crofter--I thnk you meant toddy not totty!!!!!
Evening all .. only just looked in, and see that the party really has been in full swing .. could have waited for me! Can't believe I scored a couple of points by being on the same wavelength as both Barbara and jan1956 .. gosh seeing eye to eye with two woman at the same time!

Ont-ice please don't eject me from the Freefall club, you know it's only a temporary blip .. and unlikely to happen again!

Congratulations to evsajo and wickedtongue for taking first and second places in the league table. Also many thanks to Barbara for providing the ammunition, and of course to crofter for continuing his usual high standard of persiflage. (I've just found that word and liked the sound of it .. no idea what it means though?)

Must now start warming up in readiness for next week ..
Cheers (S) ☺
I do have to add, that although the links were mine, I owe a great deal to our pal crofter for his guidance.
Cheers
Barbara--not truncated this time!!!!!
Well done to the wizz kids...................As for me, 13th equal doesn't sound too bad until one reveals the score. And I was hoping for a Man Utd..............4-0!

Perhaps I will be more in tune with KM tomorrow - well I can but hope. Til next week thanks to all involved for making it fun.
dear crofter - I do hope you meant tot! I don't think Mrs Crofter would be happy about totty!!!
Dusty did her usual rubbish - nul points encore!!
Well done Evsajo and thanx for explaining your handle. I have just typed it straight off without having to amend.

Thanx to rogerr and crofter for the work they put in, and to all the ABers who take part with such good humour. I really look forward to the weekends these days.

Crofter - does that mean I'm famous at your pub? I could do autographs - very cheap!! :O)
Question Author
Hot Scottish Totty versus Hot Scotch Toddy?

Are you sure rogerr that I meant the latter?

The Croft can be awfully cold and draughty, when the wind blows through the Trossachs!

evening all, see you're all still up celebrating !!! what a very successful weekend it's been, Barbara - you're to be congratulated along with all the points scorers - I'm in awe.

needless to say my own score was again abysmal but at least I'm consistent and I suppose that's something - I could plead 'melted brain syndome' after two days of 40+ but then what would I do in winter ??

will leave the Hot Tod/ty alone for now, give me a cold tinnie please cheers Steff
You are just trying to make us jealous seekeerz!
By the way..hope this wasn't a trunk call...we can't afford it!!
Congratulation evsajo , and to all with points.
Thanks to everyone for making it such fun at the weekend, especially crofter and rogerr.

The first chapter of my book "The MM Link Game ... the secret of my success " sadly remains unwritten!

Jonny Wilkinson only scored 27 points more than me! At least the sun is shining here, makes up for my consistent Null Points!
Wow - on one thread Ont-Ice is snowbound and seekeerz is suffering in the 40s and in need of cold drinks! This site really opens up the world doesn't it. :O)

Dustybun I was thinking along the same lines! When the show "It's a Knockout!" went international, it was called "Jeux sans Frontieres" by the French and "Spiel ohne Grenzen" by the Germans.

"Joy without Frontiers" and "Play without Borders" should be the motto of the MM Links Game - or even "Larking without Limits". That seeems to capture the innocent appeal of our weekend jaunts!
in my case crofter, all I can think of is Bemused without Boundaries!! :O)
I dont wish to bring controversy into the proceedings, but as EVSAJO scored 4 point and I managed zero, can we have 2 points each? Let me explain, she is my sister, and if we are lucky enough to win anything in the various competitions we enter, the winnings are shared. I rest my case!!!!Come on Crofter lets have a ruling.
that's a really good try burgess! I wonder if evsajo has given you a good slap - and I dread to think what crofter will say. I suspect he'll probably throw an intelligently controlled wobbly!!!! I'm emigrating! :O)
Question Author
Dear Trouble-makers & "Soup"-Stirrers

To those that like to eat beefburgess in a Dustybun. I have consulted the rules and the runes, the ocracle and the old philosopher Krophta, the stars and the computer ... and in the words lifted straight from "Little Britain" ... "The Computer says No!"

Now, what was the Question?
Yup! that is an intelligently controlled wobbly!! :O)

Touche (with the emphasis on ouch!)
