The word for part of a tree, and for part of the human anatomy are anagrams of each other. They are also an anagram of the surname of a 20th century murderer. Which 1950s film was based on the events of this murder?

Compulsion, written in 1956 by Meyer Levin.
I came up with roots and torso but not the film.

The part of the tree is bole, the part of the human anatomy is lobe and the murderer Loeb.

And I thought I was so clever!!! Thx for the explanation Flamingo
