No Valentine's special here....chicken in red wine and fennel sauce, some roasted mushrooms, may be green beans, pointed cabbage and mangetout, then a question of roasties, mash or pasta with it....

I’ve made a mince and onion pie in my heart shaped cake tin to have with peas chips and gravy for tonight’s dinner followed by a Marksies Raspberry roulade , now how about that for romance :0)))))

I'm thinking of doing something fishy. I have salmon, scallops and mussels in the freezer.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Still feeling obliged to be housebound, I'm going to treat oneself to a shepherds pie, thats the plan nothing romantic :-/

Got some fettucine, LCG? - scallops, salmon with lemon, garlic and whatever herbs you can scrounge up i.e. thyme, tarragon, flat parsley - and if you have some spinach or kale, you can make a really good sauce

For this some melted butter in the pan and then put in lemon juice, minced garlic and chopped herbs. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula to release flavour and then cook to get the garlic 'a point....'

Add a little milk or single cream, the pasta and greens and return the heat to medium; cook until greens are wilted. season and the scallops and salmon into the pan for a few seconds until. Add lots of fresh ground black pepper. A drizzle of olive oil and lemon zest and you are ready to go.

Bobbi have you tried M&S frozen lemon roulade- absolutely lush!

i went to M+S bobbi bt i didnt get there till 6pm and their roulade says to defrost for 3 hours so i didnt get one :(
I did however get a half price "love sausage"!
