What does your heading mean - or did you not want to comment?
Interesting Khandro, the sight of starving or begging children has no effect on me one way or another.
I have seen ,throughout my life, starving and dying children in Biafra and other parts of the world, personal eperience and via the media and apart from a momentary bout of sympathy, nothing that remains with me.
eek
(glad I was born in dear old blighty - but that is an old one)
World?
How lucky I am to have been born here.
It makes me very sad to see that picture .
Yes, I think it might have meant to be ‘world’. Who knows.

Yes, Zacs it was meant to be 'world', sorry. It was the title of a short film made by Thorold Dickinson in the 1950s for UNESCO. It was a series of images of humanity in all its manifestations, some harrowing & some uplifting.

I haven't seen it myself since the 1960s I've been searching for it & it seems to have sunk without trace. I thought that if Dickinson were alive today & making the film again he might use that image of the young orphan carrying his crippled brother.

The film was set to the magnificent 'Egmont' overture by Beethoven which is less than 10 minutes in length, a perfect choice, the film was tailored to fit it exactly.

There are so many appeals for charity (money) that I feel are worthy but I can't support them all & I can't decide which to pick. So I don't.

davebro; That photo has nothing to do with aid for charity, it was an accompanying picture in last week's Spectator for a review of two books about Pakistan.
Sorry - books on Pakistan are way down my reading list!

Pakistan - *** of the world!
*** = bum hole
No wonder so many of them come here to luxurious lives of running water, flush toilets, free health and education and a mere three generations per household.
He ain't heavy,he's my brother could just as well have been a fitting title to that too.

Makes you appreciate what we have.

See, I managed all that without being rude or obnoxious.
What is this thread about - the title and picture don't really give any clue! If it's a question - what is the question?
I’d like an answer to that too, Dave.

Oh God! He’s gone all enigmatic again. Chances of a reasonable answer are slight.
