Mine was, I walked in the office and the floor was heaving with ants. I shot out the door and rang the boss. We were told to go home till it was sorted.
It really was horrendous.

Only the odd person kicking off when I worked in a psychiatric hospital. Just meant there was tension for the rest of the day.

When I worked in the pub I didn't really have to cope with any trouble.
I lit a fag and threw the match into the waste bin not realising it was still alight. Basket burst into flames so grabbing a fire extinguisher I blasted the basket whereupon charred paper and smoke went everywhere, and set off the fire alarm (linked to Fire Station).

I got to the receptionist in time for her to switch the alarm off and to tannoy cancelling evacuation but she couldn't stop the Fire Brigade who duly turned up. I hid in the loo when the firemen came in to carry out their mandatory check of the site of the identified alarm.
oh the day I walked in and was told that a member of my staff had discharged planned and supported a woman to go home to her husband and that he had killed her and then himself. The member of staff was distraught. She (patient) was very badly disabled, had alzheimers and in constant pain. He loved her so much.....

Canary42 I had an incident like that at home though.
I was getting ready to go out, sat in bedroom doing makeup. Smoking a cigarette, threw dogend in bin. Went out to do shopping. Part way there I remembered something I needed back home. Went back. Went upstairs and discovered bin was on fire. What a relief, put fire out. Phew!!
Wow, narrow escape indeed.
too many. But worked as a temp as telephonist for a while.
I was sent to Barclays bank to work on their system, i was shown
into the cubicle, for it was so small you couldnt call it an office, was given the lowdown on the phones etc. All of a sudden the lights went out in the cubicle, to which i uttered my surprise. The response was "sorry the guy who works here usually, is blind so no need for the lights on.... i did stay a few days and they kept the lights on for me.
but that was one of my more bizarre efforts.
Went into work at a iron mongers/DIY shop on Christmas Eve. I was very quickly informed that I had been sacked and to leave immediately merry Christmas.
Woofgang - god that’s awful! Xx
One day in Malaya. I got up, washed and shaved, dressed, went down to the vehicle compound, wondered where everyone was, then realised it was Sunday.
Went to work one day as usual and my boss's door was open with him and several other members of staff all standing around a huge hole in his floor looking down into the cellar where all the old files were stored. Apparently a young police officer was on duty the night before and when she drove past the office she thought she saw smoke, investigated and called the fire brigade. Thank God she did or the whole place would have gone up. The fire was started by intruders.
Canary, I set the bin alight in the office, too - and threw it out of the window. The office was on the 14th in the middle of the city, I was very lucky it didn't hit anyone.
Maybe not the worst ever but the most recent was, having heard of Trumps positive coronavirus status I dropped everything and rushed over.
Hours of patient waiting ensued until finally I just had to shoulder my scythe, pull up my hood and accept that I wasn't needed that day.
There was a whole period where my ex manager was bullying me but that's a long story and I ended on long term sick with stress and anxiety. The result of an investigation was that he was moved on.

The only other worst day was when a staff member jumped out of 19th floor toilet window. I was on the 3rd floor near the window and heard the crash. It was a horrible sad day and a number of his close colleagues suffered with PTSD after.
Jesus tigger! X
Mine was moaning about my boss in an email and accidently forwarding the email to him!!!!!
Oh blimey Sharon lol
Retiring and leaving good friends behind , it was a lovely day with presents, flowers wine etc and we all keep in touch even now but it was like the end of an era, I was 59.5 retired early to care for my premature grandson when my daughter resumed work
How wonderful.
That's awful, tiggs xx mine would be finding someone elderly passed away, on the floor injured, missing, lying in a ditch (in a downpour) or maybe having a stroke or heart attack. The flat on fire... they can be quite creative to be fair.
well not really a bad day for me but a bit of a laugh. We hired this IT contractor who seemed pretty competent, he passed our tests and did have good CV,.... until day 3 he was found half way up the fire escape stairs swigging a bottle of Scotch singing Danny boy! Funny I thought he looked a bit sweaty and stressed from day 1!
