My neighbours on one side are lovely, really lovely people. But.... they play Country n Western music at full blast all hours of the day! Non stop! It’s literally deafening. They are in their 60’s. They also have a son who is about 40 who has Downs Syndrome, who likes to sing at full blast to his favourite songs all hours of the day and night. It’s so difficult, but you literally cannot sit in the garden peacefully. Am I being petty??

Depends how long they’ve been doing it. If it’s a recent thing, you could have a word - if it’s been going on for ages then that would be more tricky.
Ask them nicely to turn it down.
Do you still have the kids on the trampoline on the other side
No not at all. call your local council, they should send out noise embayment officers with noise meter.
Interesting, lovely but at the same time irritating.
Do what Naomi says and ask them nicely to turn it down, Downs people love singing and expressing themselves .

No I’ve not said a word to them yet. But it was a gorgeous day today and I was trying to sit in garden and all I could hear was Kenny Rogers and their son singing Freddy Mercury full blast!!
What do other neighbors say about it?
^
I'd have been round there banging on the door and telling them to turn Kenny Rogers off. Can't enjoy Freddie when there's awful C&W being played in the background. :-)
tony i think you might mean noise abatement. :)

I’ve not spoken to the other neighbours. It’s just doing my head in now!
//It’s just doing my head in now!//
It'd do my head in as well.
Try the 'nice' approach first, if that doesnt work then frankly only a threatening approach will work with some self centred people.
I posted a few days ago on another thread about a similar thing I was experiencing with a neighbor. Tried the 'nice' thing. Didnt work, had to literally threaten to knock his lights out one night if it carried on. Havnt heard a peep since.
Not the best approach and not one that I would advocate but...effective!
Is it really literally deafening?
The fact that they have a Downs Syndrome child is neither here nor there as well. I have had 2 Downs Syndrome family members as well and neither behaved like this.
How long have they lived there?

They just don’t seem to grasp noise nevels. I would never ever dare to play stuff as loud,y as they do, so I just don’t comprehend how they don’t realise how old they are being !
I'm sure, if they're really lovely people, you asking them to turn it down a bit, will be done in a jiffy, no questions asked.
Nailit I’m not saying it’s right because they’re Downs, I was merely saying how children / adults with Downs do sing as an expression of themselves
Perhaps you should just knock on their door and ask them to turn it down!
It’s not a difficult concept to grasp.

I just don’t want to offend them...:(
