Just taken the things to school for a 4 day residential to London, was doing really well but thing 2 looked like he was about to wobble (which made me wobble). Didn’t cry but was a bit sniffy walking home and then I rescued a woman crumpled up, half-on half-off the pavement next to a dead cat - strange start to the day.

You won't know what to do with yourself with two things gone away. You'll need to find some more people to rescue.
Awe, you do know they will be fine, never easy though . Poor cat .
Just think freedom!!
Poor woman and poor cat
What a disgusting way to describe what I take to be your children. Things are disposable, much loved children are not.
Maggie - that is sher's pet name for them rather than advertise her children on AB!!
She's been doing it for years - its said with affection.

Sigh - I refer to my much loved children as boy #1, boy #2, girl and thing 1 and thing 2 so wind your neck in.
Maggie, Sher has always described her children as above, she is quite right in keeping their names off social media imo.
Exactly so - Little Persephone and Gulliver deserve their anonymity .... ooops :)
It’s quite clear from Sherr’s posts that she adores her children.
Agree Anne - I too keep my children and grandchildren's names off social media but don't refer to them as "things". Ah well, each to his/her own. Life's too short to argue the toss on here.
They’ll be fine, sherr - and so will you - just enjoy having a bit more time with your hedgehogs

I thought it was Chelsea and Chantelle?
Maggie, I describe my wonderful wife as 'the present Mrs Hughes' - it doesn't mean I am planning another one!

Lighten up!
My grandkids are Bug and Buglet. They love these names
Andy is that because you know you wouldn't find another one daft enough to take you?
I call my wee grandson 'the bruiser'

Just been sent a photo of them at the Harry Potter studio tour and they’re both smiling :)
Yaayyy but it will be tonight when they miss you so much that they sob themselves to sleep!!
:-)
I'm sure they'll have a great time, sherr... but I know what you mean.
Reminds me of when my sister and I went away with our dad when we were about 5 and 7. My sister obviously decided my mum looked a bit sad, so she gave her a big hug and said "don't worry, mum. We won't miss you!".
