They Are Only Children.

I was once taken to task for suggesting that a cinema in the Middle East which was radicalising children and adults, by showing them executions etc. should be bombed.

They are only children was the cry, do these same persons still think the same after reading this?

Its a very difficult idea bombing children - to say the least
But it goes to show how beyond words IS or whatever they want to call themselves are - in my opinion they are worse than the Nazi's were
Yes.
Unless you want to carry on doing the job for them.
"Coalition bombs cinema full of children" - they'd kill for that sort of headline :-)
As it says in your link , these children are 'forced' to carry out these acts.

It is the sick minded adults we need to sort.
They will be being introduced to it as if it were a game in order to desensitise them and consider it normal. It is not their fault that they are being corrupted in this manner. Whilst it is still early enough to change their attitude, then that, not slaughtering them, is the way forward. The sad thing is when action is taken too late to reach them in time, and they are no longer capable of being reconditioned to be a normal caring human being.
Difficult one........very difficult.

If one is captured and about to be beheaded by children, it is scant compensation that it was done by a child " forced" to act in this nature, rather than one who beheaded you..........by instinct.

Yes, that is another difficult problem.

The North Vietnamese sent children, with explosives attached to them into troop concentrations. Do you shoot the child coming towards you ?

We are living in different times and i fear we must change with those changing times.
In your scenario Sqad, you shoot in front of their feet to see if that stops them. If it does not you have little choice but to make it quick for them. It would be the lesser of two evil. (Probably find it was fake explosives afterwards :-( )

Yes...hasn't changed my mind at all.
Indoctrination is happening in Europe too; in a letter in a local (German) newspaper this week, a young teacher of Jewish extraction tells of her horror at the vitriolic outpourings of hatred coming from the muslim children in her classes to one another, things like "kill all Jews" and worse. She writes that she would be frightened to let them know of her origins.
ISIS are fascists so hardly surprising.

Bombing cinemas would achieve nothing and would most likley simply fan their propaganda campaign.

Bombing oil wells and sources of income followed by boots on the ground to deal hand to hand with the terrorists is the way to go.
AOG - Absolutely.

Isis corrupt children for the propaganda it produces, and the reaction that causes.

You have proved that their methods are sound.

That does mean that it suddenly becomes OK to assume that all children in that area are similarly corrupted, or that they understand what they are doing - and it does not give us carte blanche to routinely exterminate them.

We are busy taking the moral high ground against ISIS, which is absolutely right - unless we indulge in child murder, which puts us on a level with them - or below - because we do know better.
I think that children actually wearing explosives are a slightly different issue from children who have not gone that far along the route yet. it may be an old fashioned view but i also think that its important not to become what we are fighting, however we are fighting it.
The point about ISIS killing for that headline is also important.....I wouldn’t put it past them to destroy a cinema themselves.
In the case of the “beheaded by a child” scenario, no it would be no comfort, but if the child didn’t do it, then an adult would!

Absolutely.

I have no sons, but I have four grandsons, and they all worship their dads and would do anything to please them - even if they are too young to understand the enormity of what is going on - because that is what children do.

You cannot visit the sins of the fathers on the sons.

That is not what normal children do, (by that I am not implying that your grandchildren are not normal, merely suggesting that these ISIS one's are not)

I have a Son, along with Grand Sons and a Great Grandson, but they wouldn't decapitate anyone even if I told them to do so.

I would suggest that the ISUS children are 'normal' within their own environment and experience.

I absolutely agree that your family, and mine, would not consider that level of violence, but they have not been raised by fanatical murderers in a twelfth century feudal society, indoctrinated in hatred and bloodshed since before they could work - if they hav been, they may well be following the example set by the adults around them, as children do.
divebuddy - if you think shooting radicalised children equates to shooting slavering monster dogs, then your argument holds up.

Call me old-fashioned, but I do think there is a difference between the two.
"All the people who want "boots on the ground" had better brace themselves for seeing/hearing about these child soldiers getting shot. If you are big enough to carry a gun around in a war zone you are big enough to get shot. It doesn't matter who is to blame for the child's radicalisation; it's too late for that child. A bit like rogue pit bulls in a way. It may be the owner who should be blamed but the dog has to be put down. "

There is a difference between shooting a child who is shooting at you, and dropping a bomb on a cinema full of children.

There is a fair bit of difference between shooting a dog and shooting a child as well!!
