Duvet Weight?

Are you still on your 4.5tog duvet, or for the hardcore 1tog duvet?

I have visitors due and am contemplating 4.5 or a 9, I'm still on summer weight and consider my home to be warm......or I've acclimatised to it!

What are the rest of you on, I hate being hot at night so it is difficult for me to judge!

I've still got the summer quilt on the bed but I am wearing proper PJ's, as in full length legs, t shirt top.

I'm on the 4.5 the whole year round. Haven't used a winter weight one for about 10 years..........

10.5 for me, have been all summer, it's quite old though so probably isn't as warm as a new 10.5 would be.

Last winter, I was using a 4.5 with a 9.5. I'm thinking about getting a goose feather and down duvet for the winter, 13tog.

Everyone likes different heat in bed ecclescake difficult with visitors you could use a 4.5 duvet with option of another one if needed?

we keep the same one all year! As you don't know what your guests may like, why don't you leave the 4.5 one, but provide a throw or blanket? That's what we put over the duvet if it turns chilly.

We are still on a 4.5 tog and will move to 9 when it gets colder. Our 4.5 & 9 are designed to be joined together in extreme cold but we've never needed to.

I'm using a duvet that's so old that they didn't even have Tog ratings when I bought it! It's 38 years old and I've never put a cover on it because it's so lightweight (possibly around 2 Tog?) that launderettes regard it just as if it's a very thin blanket (meaning that it can go in with a normal wash, rather than having to pay for specialist duvet cleaning). I've not put any heating on yet and, despite only using that ultra-thin duvet, I was still very warm in bed last night.

4.5 all year round for me. I hate being warm in bed. My guest rooms each have a 10 tog because I worry they will be too cold lol

Summer weight for me, only wearing PJ shorts as well. Not cold enough yet!

I've only just started sleeping under a duvet again, a summer tog one, I tend to sleep under a light bedspread/throw with another throw on hand if I get a bit chilly, I get too warm generally though and can't wear pyjamas in bed as I get too hot. I like to be at least partly covered in bed though.

I'd say it depends on the temperature when they come - are they imminent as it's gone quite warm again.

I'd have the summer tog one but make blankets available so that they can get warmer if they need to. You could always get an idea by offering something like a hot water bottle before bed (usually outs the colder people :)).

I'd beware of the room being too warm too - nothing worse than being too warm. I lived with some Italian guys for a while and I couldn't turn the radiator off in my room - it was ridiculous before we sorted something as they'd have the heating up despite it being a really hot summer.

I have a goose feather duvet which I use all year round. I have no idea what Tog it is.
