Hand it in to the Police and get a signed/dated receipt.
^^ Ditto.
I would take the money to the nearest police station, without any hesitation.
As above
£1000 left on the street is quite significant, I would definitely take it to the police.
Ditto - and then if given it, donate it to the "Educating TWR Fund"
As above. I believe if no one claims it in 12 weeks it becomes yours.
Personal decision of course. £1000 wouldn't change my life, but it might for the person who lost it.
£1000 you have to do the decent thing and hand it in. A fiver might be different. On two occasions when I have handed money in there have been no thanks from the losers
Ditto above
Same here. Found a purse with a fair bit of money in it. The letter I received from the owner was lovely.
I would give it great thought, then do the right thing, but a temptation, for sure.
Hand it in..

I can take it Ummmm, when I give it, you have to learn to take it! U ok DT, Hows the weather in P/MOUTH
Er, honestly.
Not QUITE the same thing, but I found a very expensive camera a few years ago, with some rolls of film and some cash. Took it to the nearest police station and 6 weeks later my ex husband received a letter of thanks and £50.

I'd hand it in. Despite the fact that £1k would be useful, it could be more than useful to the person who lost it.
Keep it
