The seventh one was put to sleep yesterday.

Do you know what...it doesn't get any easier.

Know how you feel, Tilly  -  remember the fun times. x

Oh Tilly I am so sorry ๐Ÿ˜” much love to you

No, it certainly doesn't, Tilly.  An awful time - always.  X

Oh no...So sorry to hear this, Tilly. Very sad for you all. Heart felt condolences to you both. x

I want to scream!

Tilly, I am so so sorry.

And no, it doesn't get any easier.  Your heart breaks just as bad as the first time.

It is the downside of loving a furry family member.

I'm sorry. My long term 15 year old, was euthanised a few weeks ago, it's heartbreaking . You are very brave Tilly to continue to take care of so many dogs .

Also gets no easier how many dogs you have, losing one out of a household makes a big hole.  However we do have the benefit of the choice, which is denied to people who are in pain or suffering.  It is the last act of love you can do for them.  Remember the good times and smile when you think of them.

He was so poorly, so shockingly quickly and we did the right thing for him but...

I'm so sorry. It's the hardest thing you ever have to do for a pet, but usually the kindest.

I'm sorry too -  it's a shame that we can't do the same for humans - under controlled conditions akin to a enduring power of attorney, signed off by doctors and a legal-beagle like a judge.

Oh...I'm so, so sorry tilly. What happened? ...he was just a young dog.

I suspect it actually gets harder because we remember the others.

true pasta - and scattering the ashes is just as bad...

Oh Tilly I am so sorry to read this but bless you for doing the right thing as hard as it is.  Had to do it myself many times over the years. Heartbreaking.

He was seven, Pasta. His stomach became alarmingly bloated and distended. He put on 2kg weight in a week.

Diagnosed with lymphoma after blood tests, scans and fluid removed from his abdomen.

Tilly,

I have been more upset over the deaths of my cats and dogs than when my parents died.

Our furry family members are with us every day and we love them with all our heart.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss too Anneasquith.

Our various cats and dogs leave behind such a huge gap in our lives๐Ÿ’œ

I can relate to that. A few years back, I went through something similar with my cats. It was really painful losing them, even after all this time. At the same time, though, I find some comfort in knowing they aren't suffering anymore..

DTC...I still have Sallys...I couldn't go through with it.

Question Author

You are all very kind. Thank you. xx
