It struck me that I rarely see anyone talk about Candy Crush on here. I wondered if any other regular ABers play but just don't talk about it? I probably started about 6 or 7 years ago, I play every day of my life since and am on level 4495 currently.
Anyone else? I feel it's almost become an addiction, it certainly makes me cross a lot of the time but I just can't stop.

PS please don't tell me to put this in the grave that is the the gaming category.

We're probably all too modest to mention our prowess at such a challenging game, Prudie. :-)
I got up to the 4000s but it was starting to be really difficult and not so enjoyable.

I uninstalled the game and started again. I am in the 2000s now but have started finding it frustrating again. I also pay Sudoku and scrabble.

I only really play when in bed before I go to sleep.

Not a "user" myself, but I empathise with your reference to grave[yard] categories.

I put a question in Books & Authors 2 days ago, not one response yet (probably get floods now, LOL).
I don't know what that is, Prudie but I'll have a look. Nothing wrong with harmless addictions.
My daughter sent some quiz links to me during lockdown. I'm addicted to one that's the Only Connect wall.
Never heard of it, Prudie, but might give it a try - a change from
Mahjong.

This is the thing wolf, now I'm in the 4000s it can take up to a week to finish a level. For those who don't know you get 5 lives and then have to wait 30minutes to get any more, if you're on a tough level you can get through your 5 lives in less than 10 minutes.
Gness it's a game that took the world by storm when it first came out, fairly mindless. It can be played on phone or tablet. I'd say 60% luck, 40% skill.

I have to say I'm rather surprised if you've never heard of it but on reflection it was originally brought to my attention by my daughter.
It rings a bell, Prudie but I knew nothing about it and haven't seen any posts about it though there may have been some.
You can make friends, Prudie, and they can give you extra lives to to a max of twenty a day.ma

Do you do all the daily methods of winning boosters?

I had about 500 gold bars, all won in easier levels. About 100 disappeared and I got in touch with CC. It turned our that moronic me had been buying boosters whilst I was playing the game whilst almost asleep!

Question Author
I have accepted a few friends yes but I don't think they are real people. Very occasionally they send a life but usually they are asking for them. I do the daily treat machine and booster wheel, the chocolate box and the climb thing. The levels have got so hard though that boosters, even video boosters aren't enough.
Last Saturday we got 4 hours of unlimited lives, in all that time I couldn't complete the level I was on...

I’ve not long latched on to
this and I’ve just found out that so many of my acquaintances are also ‘latched’. I’m only on no 230
but I’m utterly stuck. I just cannot get past it. The little messages don’t last long enough for me to read and I don’t understand the friends thing or the chocolate box. I choose a chocolate and nothing happens. I think I must be doing it wrong. Any
help and advice appreciated.
Yeah!! Dunnit! So compulsive this game. 6am, in bed, banning spammers and playing Candy Crush. Practically degenerate! :o)
When the fun stops, stop.
I haven't been that bored yet.
But thanks for the heads up!
I don't do gaming but I know of Candy Crush. I used to like playing the arcades many years ago but these days they are just gambling machines, not gaming, so I don't bother. My favourite was Galaga 88. I could play that for hours, rack up leading scores and put only 20 or 30p in the whole night. Happy days!
^^ Which is probably why the arcades did away with gaming machines!!!
I did play for a time some years ago, got frustrated when it became difficult, moved on to Angry Birds for a while, then the Criminal Case series...

I love Scrabble but the online version drives me up the wall due to the adverts so now make do with the more tolerable but not as satisfying Words With Friends.

Wordle put me in a very bad mood this week when I logged on and realised I'd skipped a day and broke my very long streak
Barry, if you didn't fail surely the run wasn't broken.
I certainly did not fail! How very dare you

*strops off*

I missed a day
"What happens if you miss Wordle?
Yes, a Wordle streak ends when you miss playing for a day, confirmed in this Reddit post. A 'streak' in Wordle is the number of consecutive times you have correctly guessed the word in a game of Wordle."
