came as a surprise to me that he wasn't already knighted
Yes read this in the paper today.Saw him as Hans Christian Andersen many years ago, great entertainer.
About time too.
Great entertainer, well-deserved.
I've never been a fan, but agree he deserves it.
Well done Sir Tommy.
Ahhhh... good for him.
came as a surprise to me he was still alive :-)
Who?? When will they stop this pointless exercise?
I also thought he was already knighted! I wonder, why now?
Knighted at 84 year old. Almost like an afterthought, imho.
Pixie I remember him in the sixties in musical films . Always played the same 'loveable' chirpy cockney character. What he's done to deserve a knighthood beats me.

pixie i agree with you the so called celebrities get enough reward for what they do
Thanks apg, and mally x I don't even recognise him.
I hated that song, '' Little White Bull''!
god, I forgot about that song, it was terrible -shall I post a link lol!
Gosh Pixie, you must be very young!
No-o-o-o APG!
Well deserved as far as I am concerned. I like his Eleanor Rigby statue in Liverpool.
What took them so long?...
Congratulations, Tommy.
