Partly inspired by the death of John Chalice, I was wondering if Human kind would grow out of TV in some way. What do you think?

Quite likely. The CSI franchise has loads of cities in which to base the same old *** stories, rehashed with a better ethnic mix.
I think they'll be watching in a different way, perhaps screens in spectacles or in the eye itself. Maybe in hologram form.
People are always hungry for visual stimulation and curious about things they cannot see 'in the flesh'.
Humans might still be watching TV in 1000 years time, don't know about you.
No doubt. It's been the opiate of the people for a long time.

performing arts have existed in human society for at least 2500 years, television is just one form of that, which brought entertainment into people's own homes. the current way tv production is consumed is likely to be superseded by technology, but the medium - broadcast theatre - is likely to sustain.

in the 1970s they said cinema had had its day, yet it came back and shows no sign of waning again.
yes and i expect it will all be repeats of repeats of repeats and so on lol
is Lucille Ball show still showing in US, that has been a stalwart since the 50's i think.
Watching TV might be all that they do!
