I have prepared for my Tesco delivery this morning, bags ready by the door, fridge and freezers organised.
I wondered why they were late - I have just found out that today is not Thursday. :(
Don't blame age Barry. Quite some years ago, i was woken by the alarm clock at 6 a.m., went through my usual routine in the bathroom, downstairs for a bite of toast and a few slurps of tea, then coat on and out the door to catch the 6.50 bus to work. As soon as i reached the bus stop i realised that particular Monday was the first day of my annual 2 week summer holiday:-(
I have done exactly as you-my delivery is on a Thursday-got up all ready then changed the date on the calander and saw it was Wednesday. Still was all ready and up for the day, only trouble was I had nothing to do that day!! As time has gone by I have woken up and not known what the day was and had to check - must be me getting old.
I waw only in my 30s when one day I woke up rather late. A quick wash, dressed and a cup of tea then got in my car to drive to school. I was nearly there when it dawned on me that it was Saturday.
retirees like moi can never tell what day it is, unless they play golf on Wednesdays and go to church on Sundays or similar. There aren't any landmarks in life any more.
I've enjoyed reading your stories , as yesterday I posted on here that I was worried I might be getting dementia!
My friend phoned me last night asking why Corrie wasn't on.
Fortunately I knew it was Tuesday as that is the day I do my shopping, so looks like we're all losing the plot. :-)
For those who don't watch Corrie, it's not on on a Tuesday.
