morning all, i hope you are well and that your day will be a good one. I have a doctors appointment and then meeting a friend for lunch. The weather has turned very chilly and autumnal. Time to dig out the sweaters i think.

Question Author
time for some more coffee, anything to stave off the cold.
Early birds must be busy catching worms today.

Question Author

Question Author
not too bad 1ozzy, hip still hurts but it's going. Likely will have coffee/soft drink today, as i had a pub lunch yesterday. Also meeting a friend tomorrow, so that might be another Queens Larder pub meet up.
how are you today?
Question Author
early birds are still sleeping, one Theland sadly has passed away.
Doing ok thanks Emmie.
Lovely day down under after a frosty start.
Plants are starting to blossom, looking nice but nose doesn't agree.
Hayfever time ;-(
Question Author
something i don't suffer from, hayfever, though i am allergic to lilies, give me migraines which i don't have with any other flower.
Morning all, a quick visit today as I am out the door for the first appointment to get my hair sorted out....it's really grown quite thickly this past month...so Trurra here I come.
I read about Theland, shame, but hopefully he's found peace.
He had a good sense of humour that didn't surface often enough.
Cheeky old fella sometimes.

morning dtc
Question Author
i need mine cut but local one charges 65 quid for a cut and another hair place i found charges an astonishing 100 quid for cut and blowdry for women and same for men, outrageous.
Good grief - puts my twenty quid in perspective - a tenner today as they are celebrating their tenth birthday....
Hi Dtc, do you have to pay the hairdresser a search fee or still have a full mop?

That's a ridiculous amount of money Emmie.
No idea what the charge is down here, haven't paid for a haircut for many a year
Morning all, I feel I must know the Queen’s Larder, emmie, but I can’t place it. It has a fascinating history anyway. How lucky you are to live in such a central area. I would be forever in museums and galleries and theatres if I lived there.
Question Author
i don't know how they get away with it to be honest. Daylight robbery.
G'day Naomi, keeping well?
Question Author
morning Naomi, The pub Queens Larder is over 300 years old, and was used initially by Charlotte the wife of King George 111 who had various illnesses, she stored medicines, edible foodstuffs for him in the basement of the pub on the site. It does have a fabulous atmosphere, as the bar staff are extremely friendly and everyone gets chatting, from top judges, to criminals apparently and everyone in between.
Yes, I looked at the link you posted the other day, emmie. Very interesting place.
Gotta love the mental image of judges and crims having a good old chin wag.
" hey Gov, remember when you decided porridge would be good for me"
Question Author
i know some of the people who frequent the place, they are all locals, and so its a good place to also meet new faces. I have enjoyed my times there over the last month or so. Its in Queen Square, off Southampton Row WC1 Naomi.
