I say sofa, settee sound like a really odd word to me lol.
And living room, though I guess as we mostly sit in it, we should call it the sitting room.
As a child we called it the lounge, don't know why sounds too posh for us.
I'm in south west if that matters, these things are often regional.

In London we had a living room and a front room (only used for Christmas, funerals and posh visitors!). We always called them settees, and a lounge was a big room the posher neighbours had, which was actually the living room and front room opened up into one sometimes with wooden fold away doors in between.

Back in the day, our house had a parlour, a living room and a scullery. No garden, just a back yard that housed the toilet.

My mother called the kitchen the scullery and the living room the kitchen!

Mam was from Yorkshire and always called the kitchen the scullery. I bought a second hand three piece yesterday to replace an old armchair and last night there were three dogs on the settee and one on each armchair - and me sitting at the desk as usual. So much for getting more space to sit down.

The front room housed a radiogram a tiled fireplace , , it was carpeted and had a brown leather bed settee in case of visitors I assume , red velvet curtains and white nets
