I made an apple and blackberry crumble. Apples from my dad’s trees and blackberries growing wild in my garden. I don’t eat it myself, but I love making it.
Are you sure the mushrooms are ok to eat, chipchopper?
Was going to have chicken with some sort of coconut and lemongrass mix that I brought back from somewhere in the Far East which expired in June 2019 but fancy a pizza instead. Have made the chicken dish to freeze. It smells really nice but when you want a pizza, you have to have a pizza.

Loads of wild and free stuff out there at the moment - blackberries, elderberries, cobnuts, bullaces - there for the taking!
I don't know what to do with Elderberries, apart from make wine. What else can you do with them?
I`ve been looking for elderberries to make wine with - can't find them anywhere around here.

Tilly - I know. Someone told me where there were some growing about 4 miles from here so we might go and have a look.
My dad was an avid mushroom picker. He would get up early and go out collecting them and come back and cook them for breakfast. I used to trust his judgement but I'm afraid that I have lost the wherewithal to recognise a field mushroom from a not so friendly fungus.
We used to pick mushrooms in October if I remember rightly. You might be Wild and Free if you got them from your lawn now
We had sausage baguettes followed by strawberries, Madeira cake and cream. With a few margaritas to whet the appetite.

Cloverjoe, Yes 100% sure they are edible, I would'nt touch them otherwise.
Learning which ones are poisonous is more important than vice versa.
Much more flavour than those sold in shops!
Tonight it was shell on garlic and chilli red shrimp fried in butter, with avocado,tomato and red onion salad, creme brulee for afters, jammy red roo to drink.

Tilly they are full of vitamin C. You can make a syrup with them. Add a little food quality glycerine for a soothing syrup or mix with hot water for a comforting drink.

Chip, do tell how you know what you're doing with mushrooms.
All picked fresh this morning..
Carrot, french beans, onion, chard, fennel,
peas, spring onion, sweet pepper, basil, coriander, shallot, chilli pepper... that's before I made the stir fry sauce.
Chilli, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, lime juice and honey.
Pudding.. Apple raspberry, blackberry and pear crumble, all picked yesterday !
Forgot to mention.. a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc .
Does that cover me for my 5 a day ?
