Jewish schools 'pressurise parents to take children out of sex ed lessons,

It's a difficult one... teaching biology and facts seems fair enough... but the rest probably should be down to the parents.
I think that it is a matter for the parents to teach their children what they consider appropriate regarding sex and LGBT.
Question Author
but will they that is the point...
They don't teach about sex, not the physical act. It's more about teaching about differences and acceptance of them.
I don't know, but I think schools should really be concentrating on facts, which includes LGB(not T- or any other type of religion)- those are personal views, and I don't think it is the job of a school to press either way.
Question Author
so the children and young adults are to remain ignorant of say LGBT issues if the school has their way and perhaps the parents don't want them to know due to their beliefs..
danny....but many parents don't teach their kids. My father would never have spoke about sex with us. It was a big No NO subject.

Luckily my mother would and did.
I would add in LGB to curriculums, as that as factual. Anything that comes down purely to "belief" is really a family issue.
Question Author
i didn't know a thing about periods, sex or anything remotely useful, my mother didn't see fit to tell me and my father was a cretin anyway.
Yes, I think factual things should be included. They were for us as part of Biology, now as more of relationship lessons. But you have to be careful really, teaching a child something as "a fact" when it is more a belief.
I agree with Pixie when she says teaching biology is right - but anything more must be at the parent’s discretion. I think by allowing the LGBT brigade to push their own agenda, we are in great danger of destroying childhood innocence - and that, in my opinion, is simply wrong. Their problems, like those of any other adult, should be of no concern to little ones.
Isn't it usual for Jews cut something out when it comes to sexual matters :-)
If they must teach this subject then, surely, it would be better to teach it in secondary schools.
do little children need to learn what homosexuality is, guys wearing womens clothes...no, let them be children, perhpas in secondary school to some extent.
At a certain age, probably when they start asking questions, it's a good thing to teach about the mechanics of sex, and it's worth educating about relationships too. I doubt one needs to dwell too long on the fact that some don't conform to normal hetro relationships, or even accept the sex they are. Mentioning it in passing should be fine. As for parental opting out, it's difficult to agree to state overriding parental rights, but it's sad that some may not be informed to a reasonable degree.
"They don't teach about sex, not the physical act."

Yes they do. They teach about the natural physical act of sex an how the penis goes into the vagina, ejaculates and then how the sperm finds the egg.

What else would they be teaching during "Sex Education"?
"danny....but many parents don't teach their kids. My father would never have spoke about sex with us. It was a big No NO subject.

Luckily my mother would and did."

Are there any statistics or links to support this ideology?

Seems people who are from a different era are portraying their outdated views on current affairs.
To actually answer the OP.

Yes absolutely, of course it is backward thinking.
//They teach about the natural physical act of sex an how the penis goes into the vagina, ejaculates and then how the sperm finds the egg.//

Incredible. I find it hard to believe that your little tadpole beat about 1,000,000 others.
