I live here and I am not going to brag at all. I wish I could live somewhere else.

My aunt in law lives in the Bronx. When my partner went over she told him to not go out after after dark. That was enough to put me off.

beautiful country, nice people, odd politicians
Impressive place, the Americans do so much really well, but I wouldn't want to live there.
I've recently married an American and it's certainly a culture shock. Lots of things taken for granted in the UK are not so in the States, and I think your quality of life is more equal in the UK regardless of income than in the US. We're very lucky to be okay financially but I volunteered at a soup kitchen and there but for the grace of god goes absolutely anyone. I like the people generally as well but I can see that if you hit hard times here you could very easily end up in a very bad situation. x
You've got probably the best leader in the world and you want to live somewhere else.
The grass is always greener, as they say. (well, we do, anyway)
I’ve enjoyed all of my holidays in the US. I love San Francisco in particular. I’ve also enjoyed NY, LV and Disney. I’d love to go to less touristy areas too.
I’m glad I don’t live there though.
I love some parts of it. Have family in both Miami & New York and I much prefer Miami. The crime is bad along with the politics.
On the whole, everything is big!!!
Like everywhere there's good and bad components. I didn't like New York and found the people there impatient and a tad ignorant. Boston was friendlier.

I prefer Canada and the Canadians as a rule but America is still a very beautiful county with a diverse and breathtaking landscape and I am determined to see more of it.
It's nice to visit. Lots to see and do, plus plenty of great people. I would not want to live there, though, because of the gun problem and the terrible food, among other things.
I have relatives just granted a green card after living and working there for 12 years. They love it. I do not like the food or the beer. I would live there for a while, see many states etc. I do not like Vegas, but Arizona got into my blood, and I miss it.
I don’t think you can judge it as one country. Different states are very different. Which state do you live in?
Heartily agree with woofgang. It’s a very diverse nation.
Tennessee is incomparable to LA, etc.
Lots of beautiful places there but so many neg aspects. I’m glad that I don’t live there.
I asked my Canadian cousin what the Canadians thought of their neighbours to the south and his answer was that most were glad that they weren’t their enemies!
They have to drink their beer ice cold, so that they can't taste it.
Ha ha Hopkirk.......I can’t help but tell you a Canadian joke about American beer but since it contains the F word which I hate I apolgize
Q: Why is American beer compared to making love?
A: Because it’s f_ _ _ _ ing near water.
Tee hee
Works better as 'Why is American beer like making love on a beach?'
America's generally great, until somebody brings up God n Jesus.

Then it goes all boggly eyed and shooty.
Only visited the States once and found the people there, on the whole, to be rather insular. Their 'I'm alright Jack attitude' was a tad eye-opening and informative. Though, as has been said, i suppose had i visited other states, i may have met those of a more diverse outlook on the world.
I lilke the States and you have a great leader unlike the quisling we have.

However I could not live there, did try a long while back but not for me. Mind you I was living in NY and it is a totally different place to even Jersey across the water. The US is a big place, I'm sure there is a place somewhere in it for the vast majority of folk.
