Me again! stuck as usual!
Most clues have extra or missing letter in wordplay or an extra word in the clue.
Danish king is unable to handle the first hint of unrest (4) Is Cnut correct (extra A) ?
Bond, at one point, or tie up (5) Fabris - coloured gold - attached to your pants (8)
These might get me going again!
As for the theme of this crossword I'm at a complete loss, but at least the weather is warmer!

Oh dear, went to the pub in desperation & not because I'd finished the crossword!
"The dropped words are all synonyms for a (four letter) word used in the activity." The words I've got (probably wrongly) are painter, marlin, jeff, line, runner - sound a bit like fishing to me. For the anagram of the name I have RADLOELHNO? (again probably wrong!) I've looked up the 'face' & 'location' till I'm blue in the face, but can't find an 11 name. And as for the route?
I don't want to give up but fear I may have to if I'm to remain sane!!!!

Ripper - You've almost got the letters for the name (it's 4, 7 letters) but your R is wrong and you need another N [the clues that give the two Ns are the 'Mint housing a(n)...' and A soprano in Spai(n)...' ones].
