I've filled the grid and think I have the empty cells in the right places, these don't seem to make any particular shape or sense to me! But, I can't find the five letter 'supporting role' and have no idea what the rhyme is.
Gosh I must be particularly dim.
Any hints would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi Ripper,

It's a short nursery rhyme about a character who sat in a precarious position, which you'll find somewhere in the sixth row

Thanks boreas, I've now got the character, am I supposed to fill in the blanks with his name (or make words with the blanks then leave them blank? If you see what I mean!)
You're nearly there. If you take all the letters from his name, you can fill in the 12 blanks to make real words . . .

. . . but, how do you leave 12 blank cells in the grid?
Take a look at some of the letters that can be found ABOVE the 'support'.
Remember, you have to 'enact' the rhyme

Thank you boreas
I hope you have a WONDERFUL new year
Wasn't it brilliant? One of the most enjoyable ever.

Hope you have a great New Year, and the same to everyone else.
