Very sad to hear the news. I have the DVD's of Joe 90 and Terrahawks on my desk, and I was a massive fan of Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds as well.

Have just read that, rest in peace Gerry.
I loved Thunderbirds, the music, the strings operating the puppets, those were the days. RIP Gerry Anderson.
i remember watching one of the thunderbird movies at the cinema when i was young
there was the usual disclaimer during the credits about 'any similarities between persons living or dead are purely co-incidental' ...
... it then went on to say 'because they do not yet exist!'

the cheer that went out was the loudest i had heard
don't forget Twizzle and Torchy, and I remember playing with my Stingray in the bath
And Supercar

Mike Mercury, Professor Popkiss and Mitch the Monkey ....

Great stuff!
A very sad loss, UFO was my favourite, Ed Bishop ("Straker") died in a hospital near where I live. I love how Gerry Anderson's productions linked UK and America/Canada with their productions.

When I was very young, I remember an episode of Thunderbirds that featured giant crocodiles. Gave me a few nightmares. It was only when I was a little older that I realised that they were just baby crocs scaled up to look like giants.

Like Jim Henson, Anderson was a bit of a genius.

(And let's all try to forget the appalling Hollywood live action remake of Thunderbirds from a few years ago).
...and I forgot - the Mysterons terrified me. Ab...so...lutely terrified me.

Round circles of light. That's all they were...but still...pant-wettingly scary.
Great stuff - and even if the strings were on view, it didn't matter. RIP.
