is it the joke in the jokes category? It's really clever rather than funny.

They're all in phrases and sayings. I'm clearly nowhere near clever enough. I don't understand any of them.
Read the sentences, especially the names out loud- will become clear then.
There are quite a few threads on Answerbank that I dont understand either, so you are not alone.
Really evian? You know you say the name of the child with the surname and it then sounds like something else, for example Mr & Mrs Wallcarpet and their son Walter - walter wallcarpet :-)
I don't understand most of them either,evian.
I saw these yesterday but couldn't think of any witty ones myself to add.

Oooohhhhh!!!! So it's just like a game with a clever play on words.

I was sooooo confused.
You are going mad, sorry to break the bad news.
Question Author
Well I feel pretty dumb now. I don't think I'll make any attempts to join in.,
Aw I noticed one of these the other night... It took me a while to click lol :-)
Evian, Its based off that BBC Radio 4 programme, Mornington Crescent. Often an end feature to the programme - different balls for the verbal jousting.

Oh I see. I've advanced on to Radio 2 but I'm not quite at radio 4 level yet.

I'm glad on not the only one who's head it went over. :)
It's actually "I'm sorry I haven't a Clue"....where both Mornington Crescent and 'Introductions to the .....................Ball' have long been high-lights.
The Radio 4 programme was "I'm sorry, I haven't a clue".

Mornington Crescent was one of the games played, and that one would certainly stump someone who hadn't heard it before.
Thanks you are right, both of you. 15 amp fuse gone here! Need to get some new wiring!
Mornington Crescent is not a programme, it is just one of the rounds in the very long running show I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue which is currently back on R4 at 6:30pm on Mondays, repeated on Sunday lunchtimes.
I read them but had no idea.. what they were? They well flew over my head. I relegated myself to Radio 2 years ago... Radio 4 wow... maybe the Beeb can hang on to it until I get there.
