To have to get up each morning to have the eyes of the world on you whilst grieving , must be exceptionally difficult for him and William but on a lighter note, Gordon Brown looks like he’s had a night on the tiles :0/

After the death of a loved one you gradually learn to accept what happened but time does not heal anything.

Yep they've already said that many times on tv.
He said he was dreading her death. It must be a strange situation to be in. Born to be king, wanting to be king, but achieving that means the loss of someone you love dearly. Awful really. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - or crown.

No, Naomi me either, I’ve never felt envy for our Royals , I’d hate to be in their position
Time, and a massive retinue of lackeys, is a great healer.
Ian Blackford is enjoying himself.
As an aside, is that the longest ever title of a thread on AB?
Is grief is palpable. But surely King Charles must realise, the passing of his mother at the grand old age of 96 is a good innings! Sadness at a time like this is inevitable. However the life and death of our Queen is to be celebrated. Unlike the tragedy which befell Princess Diana and the subsequent mental scarring of Princes William and Harry.

Actually it isn’t a question , it’s a thought which is why it’s in CB
He did look full of grief and sorrow.
Never said it was a question, Bobs:-)

Charles would have been prepared for this moment for the last few years, no doubt. Still comes as a bit of a shock when the inevitable happens, but i believe he'll cope and make a good fist of being our King. Especially if, as has been muted, he includes William in much of his plans.
If it's been muted how was it heard about?
I am so glad that .The King told Harry
"Meghan was not welcome at Balmoral."

Pity you can't provide a link for that little snippet of made up ***, gulliver.
Well spotted Douglas:-)

Though i suppose you knew full well i meant mooted.
I suspect the new King will also tell Prince Andrew that there is no further source of Royal money to pay to women he has never met.
gulliver even though I hope that's true, we don't know for sure as it's only what we've read in the papers.
I'm glad she did stay away and I hope she stays away from the funeral as well.
Awful really. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - or crown.
Luckily there is no danger of that ....
Aye.
