How come I have received an email from British Gas using my regular email address and when I reply, using that address , British Gas keeps saying it is incorrect?

I had this for a while, (not with BG) when googlemail changed over to gmail.
Have you registered with them in the past with a different variation Daisy?

My email address is @googlemail or @gmail, but I only ever type in googlemail when asked, British Gas seem to have defaulted me to gmail.

The thing I was unable to undersand was their spokeman said their output in the uk had increased by 5% during last winters cold spell, and their margin (profit) had increased by 4%. I never managed to do that in all my working life!!
