I have a 2.2 litre turbo diesel automatic toyota estima 1993 and it is playing up mainly when braking going down hill or turning right probably worst when turning right . i've taken the tank off cleaned it out cleaned the filter in the tank , changed the fuel filter yet still it struggles to keep power . if i tickle the throttle pedal when it loses power it eventually regains power . but it also keeps missing when me foot is in a particular place on the pedal whilst cruising . any help much appreciated . thank you

I had a similar prob with an automatic mazda.
Took ages to find, although mine was cutting out completly when i took foot of gas pedal,
Turned out to be water in fuel, causing engine to cut out,
If car had been manual the momentum of engine would have pulled it through,
I found it by putting an in line water trap in the fuel delivery pie,

The water was getting into the tank via vent pipe to fuel tank, just under rear wheel arch.
am I right,
I'm not wrong.
