Seeing the doctor isn't the problem, it's getting past the receptionist in order to make the appointment that's the difficult bit!

Not sure what it's like where you are, but should I ever dare to phone my doctor, I have to explain what's wrong with me to the receptionist first, and if she deems it important enough to merit giving me some of the doctors time, she'll begrudgedly give me an appointment, all the time sighing and huffing and puffing like I'd asked for her very own kidney.
Being admonished by the snotty receptionist for being 1 minute late for an appointment and then being kept waiting for an hour to see the GP.

Also, trying to make an appointment and the same snotty receptionist asking me what's wrong (in a loud voice so all the waiting room can hear).
I see Mrs O's got the same receptionist! Unless they clone them somewhere.
Boo - it must be very embarrassing for you with your GP's receptionist as we all now know you have lax pelvic floor muscles and flat feet from wearing wellies rofl
LMAO !!!

Didn't think of that Mrs O, oh the poor love, perhaps I should be more patient ( <<<geddit?) with her in future eh?
getyting probed
I wonder if they all go to a special college to train as GP's receptionists and get extra marks for being unhelpful and obnoxious?
Not only is ours a horrid cow, she has 1980's huge hair, dyed blond and backcombed out about a foot. I call her Barbie's grannie.

I can't understand a word that most of them jabber on about.
I fully appreciate the receptionists deal with people who, by defintion, are ill, and a lot of them may be slow, or even stupid, but really, that goes with the job, and if they haven;t the patience to be nice, the should go and do something else!

We loved a year ago, and our new practive is wonderful. the receptionists are pleasant, and the dictors come out of their rooms and greet their patients by name and invite them into their room.

It makes up for years of the previous kind - which everyone seems to experience!
Andy Hughes...."we loved a year ago"

Too much information for a family site!
When there are loads of people there coughing and sneezing with colds. Whats the doc going do?! He/she is just going to tell them to drink plenty of fluids and take paracetomol. Why waste the docs time!
I have a problem with the Receptionists too, but the big things that bugs me is when they write to remind you of a visit to their clinic for a check up, you call to make the appointment then they turn and say we have none available.
The other thing is, and this is when I get annoyed at myself.
GP comes down the corridor, shouts your name and as you are walking up with him he asks how you are and I always reply "Fine"
mrs_overall - a (Freudian?) slip of the fingers - so to speak.

Although the 'l' and 'm' keys are not really that close - i wonder what this says about me?
