myself and the wife are thinking about selling up and trying the pub trade.although my wife currently works in a pub as a barmaid,cook and waitress,i do not have any experienmce at all.so we are looking for as much advice as possible.

Its obviously going to be a big life changing decision, so one you wont be rushing into, Id suggest you get a part time job in a local (even if its sat night) so you know what is involved. Standing on either side of the bar is very different to the other!
Their are lots of hospitality courses (pub management), business management etc that are worth looking into. And another line of enquiry you might like to make.....many pubs although managed by landlord/ladies have the backing of larger brewery companies, so its almost like a 'franchise' and they offer all the help and support for people who want to get into that position.
