Storm Babet is alive and well.  Can't remember the last time we had a storm like this.  Luckily I live on high ground and have never had a problem with flooding.

//A Met Office warning for the North-East of Scotland has been extended as Storm Babet batters the country.

Residents in the flood path in Brechin have been ordered to leave, with councillors going door-to-door and a severe flood warning about to be put in place for the South Esk River area.//

We are under a severe weather warning for both wind and rain. Just had a torrential downpour for 15 minutes. Wind has dropped. Pity the tourists

We are no too bad ( thankfully) Maggie, torrential rain all morning and afternoon, but no high winds. I hope it stays that way, . Be careful .

We...SW...had our wind on Tuesday and never ending rain yesterday. Today, have glimpsed sun while sky drips.

Stay in and stay safe.

Apparently it hasn't really started yet in most places.

It's been a bit wild on S.E Scotland coast too, Maggie.  Am fed up of hearing the wind howling - certainly wouldn't like to be driving on A1.

I live in the West Mids and we're supposed to miss most of it. My cousin lives in Orkney and they've battened down the hatches for a long stay, freezer full and cupboards full.  The dogs fed up because he can't go out for a walk but my cousin says they'll all be horizontal if they go out. I feel so sorry for those that will be flooded. Take care maggiebee.

Red alert now in place for most of the east coast of Scotland. Staying put as many roads are closed with fallen trees and flooding.  Hope wind and rain eases off overnight.

Woman just been swept away by a river in Angus. Don't have any details as to why she was out but my heart goes out to her and her family and friends.

Met RED warning means "danger to life" - why won't people listen ?

I read Dundee was quite bad, I wonder if Susan ( Wolfe) is ok ?

Anne, she is in Perth. They have erected the flood barriers there. I think she lives in a flat so as long as it's ground floor she should be ok.

Thanks T, who I'm I thinking of who lives in Dundee ? .  Your right she is in a flat .

I'm in Dundee Anne and yes, it is quite bad.  Most entertainment venues down near the river are closed. Not sure what happened to the poor woman in Angus but I do know householders in Brechin are being evacuated.  Perth now has flood barriers so fingers crossed they are all OK. My friend's sister was flooded out a few years ago and was out of her house for nearly a year.

I knew someone was from Dundee 🤔

good luck maggiebee, an unpleasant situation to be in
