morning, another early start, can't sleep any longer it would seem.
i hope you are all well and that your day is a good one. I will brave the weather and go out later this morning to do a bit of shopping. Perhaps it won't rain like it did yesterday, which was torrential. are you doing anything today, apart from those that are working?

Hi Emmie how are you today?
Question Author
good afternoon 1ozzy
Question Author
ok, knees still hurt but will go out anyway later on.
I finally received an e mail from my friend in Dubbo, it took 17 days for my letter to reach her, isn't that appalling, and just as long for my letter to her mum in WA, talk about snail mail.
Question Author
they are ok, but in lockdown, so Bev hasn't seen her mum in so long.
both are well as can be expected, mum, Jean still gets out of the house to go to the Post office, some three bus stops away, not sure how far that is but it could be miles.
Snail mail indeed.
Trust they are both well.
Still lots of covid cases in Dubbo. My youngest and his partner live there, both had to "self isolate" for the second time within a couple of months due to possible contact with a possible spreader.
Question Author
mum suffers from many things, not least is arthritis, so if she send me a letter it is often illegible which is a shame.
Can't phone them?
Question Author
too expensive.... i have replied to Bev's e mail, and that will have to do for now. Jean used to phone me, as her son had a good deal on calls, but international calls have been stopped apparently, so she won't be phoning any day soon.
That's a shame.
I can call the UK, rabbit on for about an hour, costs a few $$.
Question Author
i don't have a call package with my EE provider that includes International calls, only UK ones. So it would cost me a small fortune to ring her.
Question Author
i am just glad that they are both ok, Bev is retired now, but still works part time to help out, she was in a very high powered job.
Oh well!
Your shopping trip today, necessities or retail therapy?
;-)
Question Author
retail therapy, could do with a couple of items, not really necessary, but gives me the excuse to go out. I did yesterday and got a bit wet from the torrential rain. Its turning noticeably cooler too. so the shorts might have to be consigned to the cupboard for now.
Question Author
what have you been doing lately?
And I'm getting ready to don shorts, probably in a week or two.
Won't take long for my lily-white legs to get some colour back.
I've been making a few items from recycled wood and metal.
Bit of a hobby, hopefully some people will like them enough to open their wallets.
Question Author
whilst my sun tan, what there is of it, is fading fast.
Question Author
perhaps one day you could post some pics of the items you make, it would be fun to see them, let's hope you find buyers for your goodies.
Didn't know it was possible to get a suntan in the UK :-)
Question Author
we had some early summer back in June i think... and a few days here and there in July, i tan quite easily so it only takes a while sitting here in the sun to get a light tan.
