My son discovered this a long time ago, by doing it himself.
He would spread marmite, then peanut butter on top. He loves the combination.
^yes, the DIY version works out a whole lot cheaper, about a quarter the price of shop product.
I see marmite have launched a new version, dynamite chilli.
I quite like peanut butter, and love marmite, not sure of the combination though, suppose I should give it a go.
Peanut butter should be a prohibited substance under the UN Convention on something or other. It is a truly appalling product. To mix it with Marmite is a criminal offence.
I too have made it myself before.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the jar I bought.
It was expensive £2.50 for a small jar and I found the palm oil used to rise to the top of the jar so I had to keep mixing it.
I also prefer smooth peanut butter and this is crunchy.
7/10 from me.
it is "not right"
PB is sweet, and sweet and savoury do not go together
I would argue that sweet and savoury do go together, and that peanut butter isn't really sweet!
The chilli version of Marmite is just Marmit with a little chilli paste added...another DIY opportunity.

Ooh, I love the sweet/salty combination.
And only crunchy peanut butter will tempt me although I do find it sticks to the roof of my mouth.
Alternatively, peanut butter and jam (jelly) is very nice, as the 145 million views this Youtube video has got will confirm ...

pb is 50% sugar - how can it not be sweet?
Nutritional label on my peanut butter says "sugars 1%, salt 2%".
Hence, not sweet!
I sometimes make peanut butter chicken and it doesn't taste at all sweet.
You’ve just made me think, bednobs, so I went and had a look at the two sorts we have.
A smooth organic one which I use occasionally in the dogs Kong toy doesn’t contain any sugar.
The Skippy crunchy one does, it doesn’t say how much but it’s the second ingredient after 91% peanuts.
I’m really surprised.
From a jar of Tesco peanut butter:-
Typical Values Per 100g A serving contains
Energy 2619kJ / 633kcal 393kJ / 95kcal
Fat 53.4g 8.0g
Saturates 7.7g 1.2g
Carbohydrate 10.2g 1.5g
Sugars 5.9g 0.9g
Fibre 7.3g 1.1g
Protein 24.2g 3.6g
Salt 0.7g 0.1g
I saw a peanut butter taste test on TV once. For one of the taste options, they simply put peanuts in a blender. That's what peanut butter basically is.
5.9g out of 100g is not 50%.
I love sweet and sour. As a child I used to mop up my bacon fat with bread and marmalade.

In like crunchy peanut butter and have tried it with Marmite which I love. I prefer them separately. Marmite is great with pork dripping!!
Smooth peanut butter for me but crunchy marmite peanut butter! You can get smooth marmite peanut butter though.
