Just curious here,
Why do females wear makeup? Yes, I know that its become fashionable for men too to some extent but its always been a womanly thing. ''Ive got to put my face on'' was always my ex's saying, like she didn't already own a face?
Some of the most desirable women Ive known (and slept with on occasion) have used next to no makeup.
Why the need to plaster good looks with artificial grease? (and most women ARE good looking without it)

Not knocking anyone personal prefferences, just curious.
Thanks.

Also this applies to men. I've seen some men in eye liner and lippy!!!!
Very popular with ( male ) new romantics in the early eighties.
Because they can (and that goes for men too)
I think I look healthier with a bit of make up. Also if I think I look good, I feel good.
As history goes, women wearing make up is relatively new, men have worn make up through the ages, if you look at the male species of animals, birds etc., you will see that the female is almost always a dull colour and the make is colourful and beautiful, the nearest I could get to back up my thinking is this link (I remember learning this a very long time back at school and found it fascinating) I love to wear my make up because it makes ME feel good, not for anyone else https://www.byrdie.co.uk/history-makeup-gender
I don't wear a lot of makeup but the makeup I do wear makes me feel more 'finished'.
When spending days at home, I wear no makeup at all but if I'm going somewhere, I do put on my makeup, just in case I see someone I know :-)
^^ the Male - not make
Why do some men shave all their body hair off?

It's all about what makes you feel good.
I guess people do it because they want to.... I have never in my life ever worn make up because I didn't want to.
I've always liked wearing makeup. Not a lot now, but when I was younger I wore every possible colour on my eyes...and painted on eyelashes...because I COULD. It was fun to me...and I never felt I had to justify it to anyone.
Nailit, you are knocking it a bit if you need to state " Why the need to plaster good looks with artificial grease? (and most women ARE good looking without it) "

Honestly Im not Pasta.
Ive posted in the past about females wearing overbearing perfumes etc as well. Guess it just comes down to personal prefferences. As stated, just curious and trying to see it from another perspective.

Its just been my experience that most ladies look attractive enough without makeup as with it...That's not sexist or anything is it?
Of course it's not sexist. It's a matter of taste
Makeup hides unsightly blemishes, highlights bone structure and disguises less flattering facial features. Plus pretty colours on lips and eyes are attractive to the male. Some go OTT, others could do with lessons in makeup application. A pretty lady often comes from a makeup bag.
Like Pasta, Nailit I don't "need" to wear makeup....I enjoy it. I wear a bit less now that I don't draw on the Twiggy eyelashes but I still enjoy experimenting...

I have uneven skin tone so I fix that and being Irish I need a little blusher.....I have big eyes and long lashes so I enhance that especially now that I wear glasses......
I love trying different colour eyeshadow...more muted these days but there are some lovely shades to try.

I have small lips so I outline and colour them......just so I can pout or run my tongue around them seductively....makeup is fun, Nailit... :-)

I say gness, you’ve started me salivating.
Ummmm. Don't start the body shaving again lol .
